Sugar, spice, and everything nice and one unexpected ingredient: chem-. Oh. Wait, wrong story. This is the tale of the Munchies, no, no. Not THAT kind of "the munchies". The small, sugar-coated little marshmallows you seem to see in every Ostlean Easter basket? And no, not those normal, boring stale kind either. We're talking about the enchanted buns and cheeks. These adorable little marshmallows were created in a rather happy accident by a sweet shops owner and beginner enchantress. The idea was fairly simple, imbue the sugary snacks with just the tiniest bit of magic, enchant the little buns to hop, the cheeks to actually "peep", children were going to just eat them up! Literally. Like most things, it was a good idea in theory, but it seemed the magic of fate had other plans for the sweets. The spell went smoothly, the little treasures sprung up from the tray, hopped around a bit, chirped, everything seemed normal at first glance. However, upon closer inspection it was clear there was much more to these creatures, they seemed to truly be full of life! Giving chase to each other, offering the occasional snuggle and oddly nibbling on the ears and tails of their companions in a strange show of affection. One thing was clear, selling these sweets as a snack would be cruel. With that thought in mind, the shopkeeper gathered up the energetic beings and headed to the local Menagerie where you even to this day can purchase Munchies of your own during the Easter festivities. -------
The vast land of Ostlea is home to creatures of all species, each with their own unique characteristics, some magical and rare, others so common they are sometimes viewed as pests in the areas they reside. To this day new species and information are still being discovered.
